Lens Profile Selection

LensNode ships with a library of lens profiles, each created from real-world capture and profiling. You choose one with three cascading dropdowns. For the full list of available lens presets, see Lens Profiles below.

The LensNode Manufacturer dropdown open, listing lens manufacturers including Angénieux, Asahi, Canon, Cooke, DZOFilm, Deakinizer, Helios, Kowa, LOMO, and Leica

Manufacturer / Family / Variant

  • Manufacturer narrows the library to the manufacturer of the original lens.
  • Family selects a series of lens created by that manufacturer.
  • Variant picks the specific lens. Most of the time this is a focal length and lens speed, but can also be a particular unique variant.

Choosing a lens here sets every one of LensNode’s eight characteristics to that lens profile at once.

The LensNode Manufacturer, Family, and Variant dropdowns set to Tribe7, Blackwing7 (X-Tuned), and 47mm T1.9

Host differences: this behaves differently in Final Cut Pro.

The expanding profile library

The library grows as we add more lens profiles to it. This is time-consuming work, but we try to add as many as we can with each new release. Because these profile selection dropdowns are essentially a shortcut for the underlying per-characteristic settings, you can actually change each effect layer to use a different lens profile. See Mix & Match to combine traits from several profiles at once.

Lens Profiles

Every profile below is built from real-world capture of an actual lens. Choose any of them with the Manufacturer, Family, and Variant dropdowns above, or assign a different profile to each characteristic with Mix & Match. The library expands as we add more lens profiles to it over time.

Film look profiles

Original Node Mill profiles inspired by effects from specific films.

  • Civil War
    • Alex Garland, 2024
Based on the rainbow aberration lens effect added in post-production to key shots. Uses the Chromatic Aberration effect layer.
  • Sinners
    • Ryan Coogler, 2025
Two profiles based on the radial blur and smearing seen in certain shots throughout, as well as the famous Club Juke scene. Uses the Chromatic Aberration effect layer.
