# Presets & Defaults

Open **Presets & Defaults** to choose settings for new instances and save creative presets.

## Set Default CST

Saves the current [Input Color Space](https://videovillage.com/learn/mirage/full-guide/interface#input-color-space) for new Mirage instances.

## Set Default Quality

Saves both **Quality** and **Cache** for new instances. Choose the modes you want to start with before pressing the button. See [Quality and Cache](https://videovillage.com/learn/mirage/full-guide/interface#quality).

## Set Default Tech Settings

Saves all values in [Technical Settings](https://videovillage.com/learn/mirage/full-guide/technical-settings), including its subgroups, for new instances.

## Set Default Preset

Sets the selected preset as the startup preset. If the Preset menu shows **Custom** , save the settings as a named preset first. Restart the host to apply the default to new instances.

## Revert All Defaults to Factory

Restores factory defaults for Input Color Space, Quality and Cache, Technical Settings, and the startup preset. Existing instances and saved presets are unchanged.

## Re-scan Folder

Refreshes the Preset menu from the presets folder. Use it after adding or changing preset files outside Mirage.

## Preset Creation

Creative presets save settings for reuse. Input Color Space, Quality, Cache, import file paths, and render sampling controls are not saved as creative preset values.

### Name

Enter a name for the current creative settings. Choose a name that helps you find the look later.

### Save

Saves the settings as a preset. Load it from the top-level [Preset](https://videovillage.com/learn/mirage/full-guide/interface#preset) menu. You can still adjust the controls after loading it. The new preset appears in the Preset menu of the current instance right away. Other open instances show it after the host restarts.

### Open Presets Folder

Opens the folder containing your saved presets. Use it to locate files for copying or sharing.

### Presets and imported files

A creative preset does not package imported geometry, animations, or world textures. Keep those files available on each machine that will render the project. See [Keeping imports with the project](https://videovillage.com/learn/mirage/full-guide/imports#keeping-imports-with-the-project).
