# Imports

Open **Imports** to add your own glass geometry, animation, or environment image.

To save creative settings or choose startup defaults, use [Presets & Defaults](https://videovillage.com/learn/mirage/full-guide/presets-and-defaults).

## Geometry

### Import OBJ…

Select an OBJ mesh to use as glass. Mirage copies it into its geometry library, where it becomes available as a user import. Set **Diopter Shape** to **User Imports** , then choose the mesh in [User Imports](https://videovillage.com/learn/mirage/full-guide/interface#user-imports).

### Open Geometry Folder

Opens the folder containing the stored geometry files. Use it to find meshes you need to transfer to another machine.

For motion captures, see [Import Animations](https://videovillage.com/learn/mirage/full-guide/import-animations).

## World Texture

### File

Sets the external EXR or Radiance HDR path. Mirage loads the image when the instance opens or the path changes, then keeps it in memory. Keep the image with the project and update the path if you move it. Mirage does not copy world textures into its library.

### Import EXR/HDR

Load a latitude–longitude environment image. Then select **EXR/HDR Spherical** under **Technical Settings › Image Edges**. See [Image Edges](https://videovillage.com/learn/mirage/full-guide/technical-settings#image-edges) for the other surround options, including the World Space input.

## Keeping imports with the project

Geometry and saved animations live in Mirage’s local import libraries. Make those files available on any other machine that will render the project.

World textures remain external files. Transfer them with the project and check the File path on the destination machine. A creative preset alone does not package imported assets.
